Signs of the Last Days

“A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.” (Proverbs 22:3 ASV)

“1  But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5 ASV)

“But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:13 ASV)

“3  knowing this first, that in the last days mockers shall come with mockery, walking after their own lusts, 4 and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Peter 3:3-4 ASV)

“Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, give diligence that ye may be found in peace, without spot and blameless in his sight.” (2 Peter 3:14 ASV)

“17 Ye therefore, beloved, knowing [these things] beforehand, beware lest, being carried away with the error of the wicked, ye fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] the glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:17-18 ASV)

“And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” (Matthew 24:3 ASV)

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.” (Matthew 24:7 ASV)

“10 And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. 12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. 13 But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand), 16 then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:” (Matthew 24:10-16 ASV)

“for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:21 ASV)

“30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:30-31 ASV)

“33 even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, [even] at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.” (Matthew 24:33-34 ASV)

“37 And as [were] the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, 39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. 40 Then shall two men be in the field; one is taken, and one is left: 41 two women [shall be] grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.” (Matthew 24:37-41 ASV)

“45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath. 48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth; 49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken; 50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, 51 and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 24:45-51 ASV)

“31  But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory: 32 and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats;” (Matthew 25:31-32 ASV)

“3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when these things are all about to be accomplished?” (Mark 13:3-4 ASV)

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in divers places; there shall be famines: these things are the beginning of travail.” (Mark 13:8 ASV)

“And the gospel must first be preached unto all the nations.” (Mark 13:10 ASV)

“21 And then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ; or, Lo, there; believe [it] not: 22 for there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, the elect.” (Mark 13:21-22 ASV)

“Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished.” (Mark 13:30 ASV)

“32 But of that day or that hour knoweth no one, not even the angels in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” (Mark 13:32-33 ASV)

“5  And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and offerings, he said, 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 7 And they asked him, saying, Teacher, when therefore shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign when these things are about to come to pass?” (Luke 21:5-7 ASV)

“11 and there shall be great earthquakes, and in divers places famines and pestilences; and there shall be terrors and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you, and shall persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake. 13 It shall turn out unto you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer: 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay. 16 But ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and [some] of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.” (Luke 21:11-17 ASV)

“But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.” (Luke 21:20 ASV)

“And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;” (Luke 21:25 ASV)

“31 Even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare: 35 for [so] shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth. 36 But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” (Luke 21:31-36 ASV)

“Who laid the foundations of the earth, That it should not be moved for ever.” (Psalms 104:5 ASV)

“One generation goeth, and another generation cometh; but the earth abideth for ever.” (Ecclesiastes 1:4 ASV)

“teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20 ASV)

“The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell therein for ever.” (Psalms 37:29 ASV)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 ASV)

“29 Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel’s sake, 30 but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” (Mark 10:29-30 ASV)

“3  Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter 1:3-5 ASV)

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:” (1 Peter 4:7 ASV)

“so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.” (1 Thessalonians 5:6 ASV)

  • The Second Coming of Christ (chasingthewind.net)
Jesus will come again.  Peter’s writings are an introduction to eschatology, which is the study of the end of time, a study of the end of the world.  Christian eschatology is the study of the destiny of humankind as revealed by the bible, including death and the afterlife, Heaven and Hell, the Second Coming of Jesus, the Resurrection of the Dead, the Rapture, the Tribulation, Millennialism, the end of the world, the Last Judgment, and the New Heaven and New Earth of the World to Come.
  • Signs of Christ’s Second Coming (vineoflife.net)
“There have always been floods and droughts and earthquakes,” skeptics may say. But your Bible reveals signs to watch for that will show true Christians that the return of Jesus Christ is near.  Can you recognize those signs?

Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus’ disciples asked Him what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the age. What signs and prophetic trends did Jesus mention in response? We need to know what the Bible says!

  • Get Ready! (maryscatholicgarden.wordpress.com)
There is a new group called the “Preppers”, who are stockpiling food, medicine, guns and other supplies.  They have a web page instructing their followers in the event of a government takeover of America.  Even Fr. Bing, of the Alliance of the Two Hearts, has warned his followers to stockpile food and water, in preparation for the difficult days ahead.  Americans feel despondent and depressed, as they watch the moral decay of our culture, and the infringement of our religious freedom.

We have certainly had our share of earthquakes, tsunamis, plagues, wars and famines.  But will Jesus come back tomorrow?
    +
A really grim prediction of what lies ahead!  I used to wonder why we bothered praying, when we knew the end of the story.  But then I realized the reason we desperately need to pray, is to bring as many souls to Christ as possible!
  • I Had A Vision of Jesus, Horses & Chariots Yesterday! It Is Closer Than We Think! (lynleahz.com)
From time to time, since I was a child, I have visions and prophetic dreams.  When I have a vision, I am fully awake, my eyes are closed, and it’s as if I’m watching a movie.  Just imagine what you see when you sit in front of your television set.  That’s what I see on the television screens of my closed eyelids.  Every time I’ve had one, it happened shortly after the vision, or the prophetic dream.
  • Matthew 24 (cayobuay.wordpress.com)
Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
  • On the Cutting Room Floor: Eschatology and Its Discontents (stgregoryschurch.typepad.com)
“Eschatos” is a Greek word meaning “last.” Eschatology is an English word meaning “the study of the last [things that are going to happen].”There are two major kinds of eschatology― prophetic eschatology and apocalyptic eschatology.
  • Interacting With “The End” (mattmcmains82.wordpress.com)
Groeschel divides the passage into three parts: 1) The Return of Christ; 2) The Rapture; 3) The Reunion
    +
It is when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his angels that he will BOTH judge the ungodly and grant relief to believers. Only one coming and judgment is indicated. Groeschel’s second point has to do with the rapture.

There will be no excuse for not taking heed  to the words of prophecy for they are a warning to unbelievers to repent and turn to God. Imagine being in a building that is on fire and refusing to use the emergency exit because you think there is a better route. Well there isn’t, there is only one way out and that is through Jesus who is holding open the door for you waiting for you to walk through it! Below is a short video worth watching. Several videos automatically follow this one, should you wish to watch them leave it running. May God open your eyes and your heart to His truth.
