Concerning a most important Law and dead men being alive again

In this world, we encounter a lot of rules and regulations. First of all, there are the rules in the own house, than those regulations of the community where we live and the national and international laws.

We know that we do have to keep to the law of the nation to stay out of trouble. In a similar way, we also should know that we best keep to the Law of God to stay out of trouble. The more we are conscious of the precepts of God’s laws the more we become aware of our failure to keep them, and that might bother us a lot. Because as lovers of God we would love to keep to God’s Laws and would love to please Him as much as we can.

Even Jesus knew how weak he could be and how much he needed the approval of his heavenly Father. Jesus appealed to God to observe those people who did harm against him. Jesus asked his heavenly Father to forgive them, for they did not know what they did. And they divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them.(Luke 23:34)

We know many laws but do not always keep to them. Which way do we want to go and keep to certain laws? Shall we sin to our heart’s content and see how far we can exploit the grace (favour and mercy) of God? What a ghastly thought! Having become followers of Christ we have died to sin, so how could we live in sin a moment longer? (Romans 6:1-2)

All of us who have been baptised into Jesus Christ were, by that very action, sharing in his death? We were dead and buried with him in baptism, so that just as he was raised from the dead by that splendid Revelation of the Father’s power so we too might rise to life on a new plane altogether. (Romans 6:3)

If we have, as it were, shared Jesus his death, let us rise and live our new lives with him! (Romans 6:5) Let us never forget that our old selves died with him on the stake that the tyranny of sin over us might be broken — for a dead man can safely be said to be immune to the power of sin. And if we were dead men with him we can believe that we shall also be men newly alive with him. We can be sure that the risen Christ never dies again—death’s power to touch him is finished. He died, because of sin, once: he lives for God for ever. In the same way look upon yourselves as dead to the appeal and power of sin but alive and sensitive to the call of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Having chosen to follow Christ, we should know his heavenly Father and should want to do like Jesus, trying to act and live as God wants us to live. By going for christ, following his footsteps we too can enjoy the blessing and be happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable when we walk and live not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stand [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sit down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. (Psalm 1:1)
We should place our trust in God and have our delight and desire in the law of the Elohim Hashem Jehovah, and on His Law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) we should habitually meditate (ponder and study) by day and by night. (Psalm 1:2)

We may not continue in sin that grace may abound  (Romans 6:1-2) and should be careful to keep to all the laws that are not against the Laws of God. Always, we should place that Authority of God on the first line.
